Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and also Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Refugees and IDPs, Ali Hasanov, said on 20 June that mass action against the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons should be taken all over the world.

Worldwide Day of Refugees, commemorated on 20 June, addresses this real problem shared by forty-five countries worldwide. There are 10 million refugees and 24.5 million IDPs in the world. On them, 21 million are under the patronage of the UN High Commissioner for Work with Refugees.

Protests are held in developed countries against globalization and arms, but the global problem of refugees and IDPs remains without attention, Hasanov stressed.

The Head of the State Committee said that it needs to prevent flow of the material assistance to the Armenian lobby. "A large part of the State budget of Armenia is formed at the expense of finances illegally provided by the Armenian diasporas. The Western countries should prevent the flow of assistance to Armenia," Hasanov said.

He spelled out that it is impossible to violate the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the process of a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
