Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and State European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Minister Giorgi Baramidze is visiting Edinburgh to attend the Fifty-Fifth NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA) Session Nov. 13-17.

MPs from all 28 member countries, NATO partners and influential politicians, including NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and UK Foreign Minister David Miliband, will attend the session.

Participants will discuss threats and challenges facing the structure.

The PA plays a major role in shaping NATO enlargement policy, and Georgia's cooperation is considered highly important for both the country and organization.

Baramidze will speak at the discussions on Georgia's NATO Security Committee perspectives. He will discuss Georgia's security problems, ethnic cleansing in the occupied territories, and Georgia's integration into NATO.

Baramidze will call on NATO members to take into attention the recent kidnapping in Georgia of four teens in the breakaway region of South Ossetia.

The session is expected to result in a special resolution supporting Georgia.
