French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner will visit Georgia in July. He announced the visit to reporters in Paris after a meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

The meeting lasted an hour as the officials discussed bilateral relations and Russia's non-fulfilment of the ceasefire agreement signed Aug. 12, 2008.

"I have to say that Russia has failed to meet certain paragraphs of the agreement, which causes great regret," Kouchner said, stressing that the issue is under discussion.

He added that he is impressed by Georgia's reforms and political growth.

"Georgia's political successes are obvious, and France will also support Georgia in the international arena in the future," Kouchner said.

He stressed that the two countries have close partnerships, and much more will be discussed during his visit to Tbilisi.

"We have excellent relations, including on a personal level, and the presidents of Georgia and France are friends, so this is a good indicator," Kouchner said.

He noted that during his meeting with Saakashvili, they also discussed Georgia's development and regional security.
