During a telephone conversation, Turkish President
Abdullah Gul invited his Turkmen Counterpart Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov to pay a visit to Ankara in 2010.
The Turkmen governmental press service reported that the conversation was initiated by the Turkish side.
In turn, Berdimuhammedov reaffirmed the invitation and invited Gul to visit Turkmenistan at any convenient time.
The Invitations have been gratefully accepted by the parties. The sides agreed that the dates of the visits to Ashgabat and Ankara will be agreed through diplomatic channels.
The sides expressed their willingness to continue to "unswervingly develop age-old relations of friendship and fruitful cooperation, arrayed in the new historical conditions on an equitable and mutually beneficial basis, the source reported.
Berdimuhammedov and Gul also exchanged views on the entire spectrum of the Turkmenistan Turkey bilateral relations and some foreign-policy issues of mutual interest.
Berdimuhammedov also congratulated Turkey on the occasion of successful ending of the third Istanbul Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia.
