President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received an Austrian delegation led by the second president of the National Council, Fritz Neugebauer.
The Head of State said relationship between Azerbaijan and Austria was developing successfully in all spheres.
The Azerbaijani leader recalled Austrian President Heinz Fischer`s visit to the country, adding that the two countries were interested in expanding bilateral cooperation.
The head of state underlined the importance of interparliamentary ties in development of relations.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that Fritz Neugebauer`s visit to Azerbaijan would be successful and contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Fritz Neugebauer, in turn, delivered President Heinz Fischer`s greetings to the Azerbaijani leader.
He noted relations between Azerbaijan and Austria had developed dynamically over the past 20 years to reach the current level.
Mr. Neugebauer pointed out the opening of the Austrian embassy in Baku in 2010 and President Heinz Fischer`s visit to Azerbaijan in 2011 was a vivid example of development of relations between the two countries.
Neugebauer also stressed the importance of high-level visits in expansion of bilateral ties.
The sides underscored the importance of participation of Austrian companies in various projects implemented in Azerbaijan.
They said the two countries had huge opportunities to develop cooperation in economic, energy, ICT, tourism, education, healthcare and other spheres, and also expressed confidence that Azerbaijan-Austria relations would boost to reach a level of strategic partnership.
President Ilham Aliyev asked Mr. Neugebauer to convey his greetings to Austrian President Heinz Fischer.
