BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. A delegation headed by Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, has arrived on an official visit to Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The delegation was welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Vice Speaker of the Milli Majlis Musa Gasimli, head of the working group on interparliamentary relations with Belarus Ziyad Samadzade, ambassadors of Azerbaijan and Belarus Maharram Aliyev and Dmitry Pinevich, along with other officials.
During her visit, Kochanova is scheduled to hold a series of official meetings and participate in the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
To note, the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) is scheduled to take place in Baku, chaired by Azerbaijan, from February 18 to 20. The session is titled "The Role of Parliamentary Diplomacy in Enhancing Multilateral Cooperation in Asia". Delegations from the legislatures of over 30 countries and international organizations are anticipated to attend, including representatives from more than 10 nations. The event will include a meeting of the Executive Council, a plenary session, and sessions of the Committees on political, economic, budgetary, and social matters. Draft resolutions on pertinent issues will be deliberated, with an evaluation of several organizational facets.
