Azerbaijani Football Club Gabala Signs Contract with British Company, Says Vice-President of Club

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 October / Trend corr. R.Ergun / The Azerbaijani football club Gabala signed a contract with the British company to construct Football Academy.

"We signed a contract with the company cooperating with famous English club of Chelsea. We will develop child football through the Academy to be built in Gabala," Fariz Najafov, the Vice-President of Gabala, said at a news conference in the Trend Company on 28 October.

Main objective of Gabala is to develop child football, the official of the club said.

"There are some clubs in the Azerbaijani Premier League, which even do not have fans. We are against of such development. Our major objective is to develop paying attention to child football," the Vice-President said.

At present, Gabala ranks tenth with 10 points amongst 14 teams of the Azerbaijani Premier League. Ramiz Mammadov is chief coach of the team.

Although Gabala has performed unsuccessfully in the championship recently, the chief coach will not be dismissed, Najafov said.

"The chief coach of Gabala will not be changed. The championship has begun recently.  Great number of the inured footballers of the team plays an important role in unsuccessful performance," Najafov said.
