The Azerbaijani Press Council has prepared an action plan in connection with the 135th anniversary of the national press.
The meeting of the Council's Board approved an action plan in connection with the135th anniversary of the national press to celebrate it at a high level in July 2010, the council told Trend on Oct.23.
Up to 4,000 media outlets were registered in Azerbaijan, 600 of them operate now. Roughly 400 newspapers and magazines are published. Over 20 TV channels operate. There are 50 E-media outlets, 20 information agencies, rest - Internet resources in Azerbaijan.
Under the action plan, roundtables and conferences on topical issues of media will be organized each month.
"The anniversary celebrations will be completed with the republican scientific-practical conference scheduled for June 2010," the same source added.
