Azerbaijani Education Minister: It’s necessary to use Korea’s experience in sphere of vocational education

It’s necessary for us to use Korea’s experience in the sphere of vocational education, Azerbaijan’s Education Minister Misir Mardanov said during a meeting with South Korea’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Li Chi Ha, the Education Ministry said.

It's necessary for us to use Korea's experience in the sphere of vocational education, Azerbaijan's Education Minister Misir Mardanov said during a meeting with South Korea's ambassador to Azerbaijan Li Chi Ha, the Education Ministry said.

The Minister said that soon projects to build in Azerbaijan Vocational Training Centre will be implemented jointly with the South Korean company "DAEWOO".

"Exchange of students is held between Azerbaijan and Korea. At present, in total more than 70 young Azerbaijanis study at universities in South Korea. And 22 Azerbaijani citizens study under the State Programme on Education of the Azerbaijani youth abroad for 2007-2015. Eight representatives of the Azerbaijani young people study in this country, receiving a scholarship in Korea on the state line" the Minister said.

Ambassador Li Chi Ha said that there is development of ties between the two countries in various fields, and the educational sphere is of great importance of strengthening of these ties.

"Relations with our country have been established thanks to various projects in our country. Student exchanges and inter-university relations play an important role in expanding cooperation between Korea and Azerbaijan in the sphere of education," the ambassador said.

The meeting also discussed the Korean experience in introducing the "e-government" project and ICT in education, development of concrete proposals for cooperation in education and other issues.
