Azerbaijani border guards arrest 79 wanted

The Azerbaijani border guards arrested 79 persons who were declared wanted in January 2011.
All the detainees were transferred to the law enforcement authorities, the Azerbaijani State Border Service told Trend on Wednesday.
The officers prevented 44 cases of illegal crossing of state borders and detained 85 violators last month. Relevant measures were taken in respect of the arrested.
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the officers arrested nine Afghan nationals who arrived on the Tehran-Baku flight with false British passports on Jan. 18.
On Jan. 22, five citizens of Bangladesh who tried to illegally pass the border were arrested in the frontier district of the Yardimli region.
In January, the border guards seized about 62.5 kilograms of narcotic substances in the 10 cases.
Contraband totaling 486,885 manat was seized in 64 cases.
