The scientists of the ANAS Cybernetics Institute have built a new seismic-acoustic station at the head of a suspended oil well at Qum Island in the Caspian Sea. 15-20 hours before the actual earthquake, the station registers seismic noises received by means of steel well bores from the deep strata of earth.

Noises preceding all earthquakes within a radius of 200-300 km were registered during the experiments in the period from June 1 2010 to May 1 2011.

Construction of identical stations in Shirvan and Siyazan regions is carried out at the present time by a group of Azerbaijani scientists and developers under the guidance of Director of the Cybernetics Institute Academician Telman Aliyev.
