Azerbaijan, Baku, July 29 / Trend K. Zarbaliyeva /
Proposals on increasing the number of penitentiary facilities were sent to the Azerbaijani government.
After penalties on restriction of freedom were eliminated, it became necessary to increase the number of penitentiary facilities, Deputy Chief of the Penitentiary Service under the Justice Ministry Huseyn Alihanov told Trend. Taking into account this need, the Penitentiary Service proposed an increase in the number of penitentiary facilities from 14 to 25.
Alihanov said that these facilities will be established in all regions of the country. The area is planned to cover five hectares.
The Penitentiary Service sent proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers, the ministry of justice, the ministry of finance, and the ministry of economic development to provide work for prisoners.
The entrepreneurs, who created production sites in penitentiary facilities, will be provided with tax benefits, he said.
"This must be beneficial to businessmen, prisoners, and the state", he said.
About 20 percent of prisoners are provided with work in Azerbaijan.
