BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Murad Mammadov won a bronze medal at the European Championship in Hungary, Trend reports.
In the first bout, Mammadov (60 kg) defeated Daniel Bobillo from Spain - 8:0. Mammadov defeated Moldavian Vitaly Eremenko in the quarterfinals - 6:1. The Azerbaijani wrestler lost in the semifinals to the Turkish Kerem Kamal - 0:8. The Azerbaijani athlete met with Razvan Arnaut (Romania) in the fight for bronze. Mammadov defeated his opponent with a score of 5:2 and finished the championship in third place.
Earlier Greco-Roman wrestlers Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) won gold, Taleh Mammadov (63 kg) - silver, Sanan Suleymanov (77 kg) and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) - bronze medals.
