Millennium Challenge Georgia Fund to cover regions densely populated with Azeris

Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia, which is densely populated with Azerbaijanis, has been included in the projects, financed under the Millennium Challenge Georgia Fund (MCG). Trend special correspondent in Tbilisi has been told the projects also cover the rehabilitation of Rustavi medical diagnostic center, rehabilitation of water channels in Rustavi, Tetritskaro, Gardabani, Tzalka and Marneuli.

At the same time 734,000 laris ($360,000) and 272,000 laris ($120,000) will be spent on the rehabilitation of gas pipelines in the villages Kachagani, Shulaveri and Tamarasi of Marneuli region. The two projects are financed by the Social Investments Fund.

The projection of inter-district projects, including the rehabilitation of 32-37km road Tbilisi-Marneuli-Gugugi (the cost of the work is 2,600,000 maris, or $1,250,000, 26th, 29th and 32nd of the Tbilisi-Red bridge (the cost of the work is 1,709,000 laris, or $750,000.

Several schools, hospitals and medical institution have been renovated under the program.
