Azerbaijan may become one of the growth drivers for Russian exporters of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, as well as medical equipment, the trade representative of Russia in Azerbaijan Ruslan Mirsayapov told Trend on October 5.
According to Mirsayapov, Russian exporters will be able to hold individual B2B meetings with potential business partners and buyers from Azerbaijan from October 4 to 30, 2021.
"According to our statistics, the share of Russian products in the total volume of pharmaceutical imports of Azerbaijan does not exceed 10 percent. Of course, Russian suppliers of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, as well as medical equipment have the potential to significantly increase their presence in the Azerbaijani market. A successful introduction to the Azerbaijani market requires a clear understanding of local registration and pricing procedures," Mirsayapov said.
Mirsayapov also stressed that when importing products that will be used in Azerbaijan for their intended purpose, it is necessary to provide for the condition of having a document confirming the certification of products and recognized by the national certification body.
"Recognized foreign certificates and marks of conformity, together with the cargo customs declaration, are presented to the customs control body and are considered documents necessary for permission to import products into the territory of Azerbaijan," Ruslan Mirsayapov said.
