Azerbaijan unveils total trade turnover with Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 18. The total volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan from January through March 2024 reached $96.9 million, Trend reports.

The data of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan show that these values are more than two times less than the trade turnover with Turkmenistan for the same period last year, which amounted to almost $211.9 million.

Exports from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan in the first three months of this year amounted to $79.9 million, which is more than twice as much as in the same period of 2023, when the volume of supplies amounted to $190 million.

Turkmenistan's share in the total volume of Azerbaijani imports for the reporting year amounted to 2.15 percent, compared with 4.71 percent in 2023.

At the same time, Turkmenistan's imports from Azerbaijan decreased by 22 percent from January through March 2024 and amounted to almost $17 million, compared to $21.8 million for the same period in 2023.

Turkmenistan's share in Azerbaijan's total exports in the specified period amounted to 0.28 percent, which did not change from a year earlier.

Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan for the whole of 2023 reached $773.9 million, which is 44.5 percent more than in the same period of 2022 ($535.39 million).
