Representatives of 'Bombardier Aerospace' company presented regional aircraft CRJ 900 to the Kazakh President in Aktobe airport on September 10. This type of aircraft designed for medium range flights, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communication told Trend correspondent.

"Estimated market is air routes linking the city of Almaty and Astana with the regional centers and regional centers to each other. This presentation was held as part of work conducted by the Ministry in collaboration with leading airlines of the country", the press-service said.

At present, the main problem of domestic aviation market is continuation of old fleet exploitation. At present, up to 30 outdated aircrafts An-24 and Yak-40 operate. Up to 20 percent of air flights are conducted at these aircrafts.

According to the ministry, aircrafts AN-24 and Yak-40 operating in Kazakhstan do not fully comply with ICAO standards.

"The Ministry determined the requirement about necessity to equip Kazakh civil aircrafts with special equipment to increase safety of flights in 2010 and to bring the fleet into compliance with ICAO standards, " the press-service said.
