Uzbek foreign trade balance rises by six per cent

There was a positive balance of Uzbek foreign trade as it hit $4.5 billion as of 2011 compared to $4.247 billion the previous year. That is a six per cent growth, the State Statistics Committee said today.

According to the information, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover increased by 15 per cent last year compared to 2010. Exports increased by 15.4 per cent, imports by 14.5 per cent. The State Statistics Committee did not give the volume of trade, exports and imports in monetary terms.

It was reported that the Uzbek foreign trade turnover increased by three per cent up to $21.842 billion in 2010 compared to 2009. Exports increased by 10.8 per cent which is up to $13.045 billion while imports reduced by 6.8 per cent to $8.798 billion.
