The volume of payments to the state budget through the State Customs Committee (SCC) in the first quarter of this year suggests that the forecast for 2012 will be met, chairman of Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev told reporters on Thursday.
Aliyev noted that SCC received 10 million manat more within the first three months of this year compared to the same period last year.
"The first quarter is an important and difficult one for the Customs Committee in terms of export-import operations, but we have fulfilled it," Aliyev said.
SCC transferred 347.28 million manat to the state budget through the collection of customs duties and taxes in the first quarter, which accounted for 21 per cent of the annual forecast for the customs authorities for contributions to the state budget.
Forecast payments amounting to 1.14 billion manat for 2011 were fulfilled. For 2012 the figure has been set at1.2 billion manat.
