Large Uzbek commercial bank increases assets over two times

Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank (Uzpromstroybank) Joint Stock Commercial Bank (JSCB) has increased its assets, calculated according to national accounting standards, by 21.6 percent in January-September 2015 or up to 8.302 trillion soums compared to the same period in 2014, the bank's management told Trend Oct.16.

Uzpromstroybank ranks second in the banking system of Uzbekistan on the amount of key financial indices.

The credit portfolio of the bank increased by 9.8 percent - up to 6.73 trillion soums since early 2015. The total capital increased by 14 percent - up to 831.5 billion soums since early 2015 (given the share capital in the amount of 670.2 billion soums formed as of late September).

Uzpromstroybank was founded in 1922 and was reregistered in 1991. The bank is aimed at lending to the enterprises of the strategic industries. The bank has 45 branches, 176 savings banks, 65 mini-banks located in all regions of the country, as well as a representative office in Moscow.

The shares of the Uzpromstroybank are owned by over 35,000 shareholders, including some 31,500 physical entities and 3,600 legal entities. The largest shareholders of the bank are the Ministry of Finance and Uzbekistan's Fund for Reconstruction and Development.

The official exchange rate is 2649.22 soums/$1 Oct.16.
