Aktau International Sea Trade Port transshipped 1.34 million tons of oil and oil products in January-July 2016 as compared to 2.7 million tons in the same period of 2015, said a message posted on the port’s website.
A part of the oil shipped through the Aktau port is transported to Baku, and further by railway to the Black Sea ports of Georgia.
Moreover, the port transshipped 1.75 million tons of dry cargo in January-July 2016 as compared to 1.34 million tons in the same period of 2015, said the message.
Dry cargo included 740,000 tons of metal products, 457,000 tons of ferry cargos, 384,000 tons of grain and 173,000 tons of other cargoes, according to the message.
In July, the Aktau port transshipped 412,000 tons of cargo, including 195,000 tons of oil cargo.
