Metals, alloys output up in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan increased the steel, copper, aluminum and other metallurgical output in January-October 2016

Kazakhstan increased the steel, copper, aluminum and other metallurgical output in January-October 2016, said the Kazakh Statistics Committee Nov. 18.
Production of crude steel increased by 11.7 percent to 3.52 million tons, while production of flat rolled steel rose by 17.5 percent to 2.48 million tons.

Production of unprocessed zinc increased by 0.4 percent to hit 270,594 tons.
Refined copper production increased by 4.1 percent to 336,359 tons in January-October 2016 as compared to the same period of 2015.

Production of raw aluminum has increased by 5.1 percent to 1.46 million tons.
Production of ferroalloys has increased by 5.8 percent to 1.49 million tons.
Iron ore production in Kazakhstan in the reporting period decreased by 9.6 percent compared to the same period of 2015 – to 29.56 million tons.
Copper ore production increased by 2 times to 63.06 million tons.
