Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with five main trade partners reached 3.67 billion manats in January-May 2017.
The figure accounts for 50.44 percent of all volume of the country’s trade turnover, says a report of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
In January-May 2017, Turkey ranked first in the list of Azerbaijan’s foreign trading partners with a trade turnover of $1.064 billion and a specific weight of 14.64 percent. Turkey is followed by Italy - $1.056 billion (14.54 percent), Russia – $744.16 million (10.24 percent), China – $460.18 million (6.33 percent) and Germany – $340.62 million (4.69 percent).

Italy remains leader for consumption of Azerbaijani goods. The country accounted for $944.63 million (21.23 percent) of Azerbaijan’s total export volume.
Italy is followed by Turkey - $590.79 million (13.28 percent), Portugal - $210.6 million (4.73 percent), Georgia - $202.87 million (4.56 percent) and Canada - $202.82 million (4.56 percent). The share of these countries in total export volume of Azerbaijan is 48.36 percent.
In January-March 2017, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $542.4 million (19.26 percent) from Russia. Russia ranked first for this indicator and was followed by Turkey - $473.41 million (16.81 percent), China - $274.59 million (9.75 percent), Germany - $143.97 million (5.11 percent) and Ukraine - $135.08 million (4.8 percent). The share of these countries in total import volume of Azerbaijan is 55.73 percent.
Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations rose by 13.2 percent and amounted to $7.27 billion in January-May 2017, as compared to the same period of 2016.
