The products worth 277.6 million manat ($163.3 million) were produced in Azerbaijan’s Baku city in the chemical industry, pharmaceutics, production of rubber and plastic products from January through September 2020, Trend reports on Nov. 5 with reference to the Baku City Statistics Department.
In accordance with the data, production in the chemical industry increased by 12.6 percent, the production of pharmaceuticals – by 5.3 times, rubber and plastic products – by 1.6 times from January through September 2020 compared to the period from January through September 2019.
The production of nitrogen decreased by 16 times, oxygen - by 29.5 percent, paints and varnishes - by 42.1 percent from January through September 2020 compared to the period from January through September 2019.
The production of solid polyethylene pipes and hoses increased by eight percent, the production of fittings for plastic pipes – by 2.4 times from January through September 2020 compared to the period from January through September 2019.
The volume of chemical, pharmaceutical products, rubber and plastic products in Azerbaijan amounted to 950.5 million manat ($559.1 million) in 2019.
The volume of industrial chemical products increased by 25.6 percent, the volume of pharmaceutical products increased by 22 percent while the volume of rubber and plastic products increased by 20.6 percent compared to 2018.
