Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 January / Trend corr S. Aliyev / About 73-74mln KW/hour electric power is produced in Azerbaijan in a single day, Marlen Askarov, the Vice-President of the Azerenerji JSC said on 23 January.
"Power stations in Azerbaijan work both on the fuel oil and the gas. Fuel supply is normal," he said.
In 2007, Azerbaijan produced some 21.4bln KW/hour electric power, and in 2006 energy production totalled 23.8bln KW/hour. A drop in production was caused by decrease in its consumption, caused as a result of setting electric meters to the subscribers and also due to the gas supply to the regions.
About 19bln KW/hour electric power was produced by the thermoelectric power stations and some 2.4bln KW/hour by the hydroelectric power stations.
