Kazakhstan builds new pumping stations on Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline

Kazakhstan conducts work on construction of new pumping stations within Caspian Pipeline Consortium expansion project, Kazakh Oil and Gas Ministry told Kazakh Prime-Minister's website.

"Work on modernization and expansion of existing pumping stations in Atyrau and Tengiz is underway, moreover, preparation are underway for construction of two new stations," the Ministry said.

Moreover, pipes with 700 mm diameter are being replaced by pipes with 1,000 mm diameter in one of pipeline section in Kazakhstan.

Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline expansion project will increase pipeline capacity from 28.2 million tons per year to 67 million tons per year.

The company plans to increase its revenue by two times to $2.3 billion per year following pipeline expansion project implementation. Moreover, the number of pumping stations will increase from existing 5 to 15 in 2015.

CPC shippers who transport and ship crude via the terminal are:

- Tengizshevroil - First signed agreements.

Arman - Affiliated shipper of the Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC. Currently, it is owned by Shell.

- Embammunaygaz and Kazoil-Aktobe - Affiliated shippers of the Kazakstan Pipeline Ventures LLC

- CNPC-Aktobemunaygaz - Deals with transporting and loading crude via the terminal using access to the Kazakh government;

- Litasko - affiliated shipper.

- Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. - Second shipper in terms of volume of transported crude after Tengizshevroil;

- NaftaTrans and affiliated companies - Authorized to represent oil of Russian producers in CPC.
