Iran's non-oil trade turnover reached $78.5 billion during the 11 months of the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), Trend reports referring to the website of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.
According to the report, Iran exported some $40 billion worth of goods and imported goods worth $38.5 billion in 11 months.
Due to a number of reasons, including sanctions, there was a drop in imports of various products in the last Iranian year. This led to a positive trade balance of $1.5 billion for the country.
However, despite Iran’s trade turnover with foreign countries being $89.2 billion in the previous year (started March 21, 2017), there was a negative trade balance of -$6 billion.
Most of Iran's non-oil exports accounted for China. Thus, $8.359 billion worth of on-oil products were exported from Iran to China within 11 months.
Iraq holds second place, with Iran having exported $8.239 billion worth of products to Iraq during 11 months.
