Azerbaijan’s proven hydrocarbon reserves stand at 4.55 billion tons, while the forecasted hydrocarbon reserves are estimated at 10 billion tons, Trend reports referring to the data of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.
The country has 40 prospective onshore and offshore structures.
Forecasted reserves of Absheron gas field are estimated at 350 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 45 million tons of condensate.
Umid field’s reserves are forecasted at 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 40 million tons of condensate. Babek gas field has 800 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 80 million tons of condensate.
Nakhcivan gas field has 300 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 40 million tons of condensate.
Zafar Mashal, Shafag Asiman are other perspective natural gas fields in the Caspian Basin, which will be developed in the future.
