Iran inaugurates two oil processing plants and pipeline

Iranian President has launched two oil processing plants in petrochemical and refinery sector alongside Goreh-Jask oil pipeline with total investments worth $2.1 billion.

The new pipeline which will deliver crude oil from west of Karoun river to Markran coast is of particular importance for the country allowing Iran to export oil via Strait of Hormuz, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The Goreh-Jask pipeline has the capacity to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil, which is to be exported via new oil terminal worth 1.5 billion euros of investment already commissioned in Jask.

The construction of the pipeline has 39-percent progress, and 95 percent of its equipment has been supplied by domestic producers.

Another project inaugurated by Hassan Rouhani was hexane production plant in Imam Khomeini Shazand Refinery. It is expected to annually produce 50,000 tons of normal hexane a year for polymer units.

The high-density polyethylene plant of Miandoab petrochemical complex was another project inaugurated on June 26. Worth 40.8 million euros of investment, it shall annually produce 140,000 tons of high-density polyethylene to be transferred via Iran's West Ethylene Pipeline.
