Georgia shares data on oil imports from Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 21

Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Azerbaijan in January 2022 amounted to $11.7 million, which is an increase of 154.3 percent, compared to $4.6 million over the same month of 2021, Trend reports via national Statistics Office (Geostat).

However, the same figure decreased by 11.3 percent, compared to $13.2 million worth of petroleum and petroleum oils imports from Azerbaijan in December 2021.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranked third among main petroleum and petroleum oils exporters to Georgia in January 2022, following after Romania ($19.1 million), and Turkmenistan ($13.9 million).

Georgia’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum oils in January 2022 totaled $72.7 million - an increase of 98 percent, compared to $36.7 million over the same period of 2021. However, the same figure decreased by 14 percent, compared to $84.6 million worth of petroleum and petroleum oils imports in December 2021.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $778.1 million – an increase of 38.5 percent, compared to $561.7 million over January 2021, and 20.5 percent, compared to the same month of 2020 ($645.4 million).
