BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. In total, 5,000 solar panel stations with a capacity to generate 5 kilowatt-hours of electricity each are expected to be built in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Provinces by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2023), the head of Sistan and Baluchestan Electricity Power Distribution Company Khalil Avazzadeh said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Avazzadeh, the company will cooperate with a number of organizations of the country for the installation of solar panels.

“About 1.2 billion rials (about $28,500) will be spent for the building of each station,” he said.

The official noted that currently, the building and development of alternative energy plants is one of the country's necessary needs.

Avazzadeh also added that Sistan and Baluchestan province is considered as one of the favorable locations for alternative energy plants due to sunny and windy weather.

“At the same time, it is possible to export a part of the electricity generated by the mentioned stations to Afghanistan and Pakistan at various times of the year,” he said.
