Azerbaijan's gas production increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Azerbaijan produced 32.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas from January through August 2023, Trend reports.

The data of the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry shows that gas production increased by five percent or 1.5 billion cubic meters year-on-year.

It should be noted that 8.6 billion cubic meters of gas was produced at Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) field block, 17.6 billion cubic meters - at Shahdeniz field, 0.2 billion cubic meters - at Absheron field, 5.8 billion cubic meters - by the State Oil Company (SOCAR).

Gas production at ACG decreased by 0.4 billion cubic meters or 4.4 percent compared to the same period last year. In the reporting period of the current year, gas production at Shahdeniz field increased by 1.2 billion cubic meters, or 7.3 percent year-on-year.

SOCAR's gas production volume increased by 0.6 billion cubic meters, or 11.5 percent.

Also, from the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, 212 billion cubic meters of gas was produced until September 1 this year.

About 200.3 billion cubic meters of gas has been produced from the Shahdeniz field since its commissioning and up to September 1 this year.
