Barmek Azerbaijan plans to complete the installation of electricity meters by the end of this year, Husseyn Arabul, the President of Barmek Azerbaycan, an energy distributing company told
Trend.
Arabul said currently Baku needs 40,000 meters. "As to region entering the energy distributing network of Sumgayit, around 50,000 meters will be installed here,” he underlined.
At present over 500,000 meters have been installed in Baku. In 2002 the company installed 50,000 meters, in 2003 вЂ" 100,000, in 2004 вЂ" 150,000. This year the company plans to install over 200,000 meters.
Arabul noted that the company set up the application of automated system for calculation of meters (BASO). "Around 600 BASO systems have been already installed in some places of Baku. New meters transfer energy to the centralized system through the energy cables,” he said.
