Most of Azerbaijani Bank BTB’s deposits account for term deposits

As of the first quarter of 2020, Azerbaijan’s Bank BTB increased its total liabilities by 25.7 percent compared to those as of April 1, 2019, Trend reports referring to the bank's balance sheet.

In accordance with the report, total liabilities increased by 61.2 million manat ($36 million), up to 299.4 million manat ($176.1 million).

In the structure of liabilities, the biggest share (51.1 percent) accounted for liabilities to the credit organizations and other financial institutions for the year, increased by 29 percent and amounted to 153.1 million manat ($90 million).

About 83.8 percent accounted for the loans from financial institutions, which increased by 17.9 percent up to 128.3 million manat ($75.5 million). Some 16.2 percent (24.8 million manat that’s $14.6 million) accounted for the deposits of financial institutions and 2.5 times-growth was observed in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019.

Deposits amounted to 44.8 percent of total liabilities. The volume increased by 24.5 percent and amounted to 134.04 million manat ($78.8 million).

At the same time, about two-thirds of the percent accounted for term deposits, which increased by 80.8 percent to 45.6 million manat ($26.8 million).

Some 34 percent (88.44 million manat that’s $52 million) accounted for the demand deposits, and 7.2 percent-growth was observed in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019.

The requirements of the central bank amounted to 8.6 million manat ($5.05 million) in the first quarter of 2020, which is 18 percent more than in the first quarter of 2019. Other liabilities amounted to 3.6 million manat that’s $2.1 million (a decrease by 20.3 percent).

According to the report, the special capital of the bank on an annualized basis increased by 21.8 percent and amounted to 61.4 million manat ($36.1 million). The capital reserves amounted to 64.9 million manat that’s $38.2 million (an increase of 25.2 percent)

The total capital amounted to 64.9 million manat ($38.2 million) increasing by 22.8 percent.
