The average monthly nominal wage of employees in Azerbaijan’s Baku city increased by 9.7 percent from January through October 2020 compared to the corresponding period of 2019 and amounted to 926.7 manat ($545.1), Trend reports citing the Baku City Statistics Department.
The average monthly nominal wage in Baku amounted to 938.4 manat ($552) from January through August 2020, increasing by 14.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
As a result of comprehensive social reforms carried out on the basis of the relevant instructions of the president of Azerbaijan, the minimum wage in the country increased to 250 manat ($147), which greatly affected the salaries of civil servants, employees of a number of budgetary institutions, enterprises and organizations, and state oil companies.
