Azerbaijan records growth in volume of loans to agricultural sector

The volume of loans issued to the agricultural sector by the beginning of August 2021 reached 561.9 million manat, an annual increase of 8.6 million manat, or 1.6 percent, Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

As reported, last year the volume of loans to this sector was equal to 553.3 million manat (3.8 percent of the total lending to the real sector).

Short-term loans in this sector, with the exception of amounts issued by non-bank credit organizations and excluding non-performing loans, amounted to 32.6 million manat, of which 28.7 million manat were issued in national currency, and 3.9 million – in foreign currency.

Long-term loans accounted for 501.4 million manat. Of these, 370.6 million manat were issued in the national currency, 130.8 million manat – in foreign currency.

The share of lending to this sector in lending to the real sector amounted to 3.7 percent, which is less by 0.1 percentage points compared to the same period in 2020.
