BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 1. The average number of users per payment terminal, including ATMs and POS terminals in Azerbaijan, decreased in September 2022, Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, this figure amounted to 3,680, down by 6.6 percent on annual basis.

The average monthly amount of transactions per ATM in September this year reached 851,450 manat or $500,852 (3,580 transactions), which is 27.47 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

Besides, the average monthly value of one transaction through an ATM in the specified period amounted to 237.7 manat ($139.8), the average monthly value of transactions through one POS terminal was 8,820 manat ($5,188), and the average monthly value of one transaction through a POS-terminal – 34.8 manat ($20.4).

Meanwhile, a total of 2,964 ATMs operated in Azerbaijan, of which 1,561 were in Baku and 1,403 were in other cities and regions of the country.

The number of ATMs in the country increased by 3.85 percent compared to September 2021.

The number of POS terminals in Azerbaijan in the reporting period was 74,004 (an increase of 21.1 percent over the year).

According to the CBA, 49,554 of these were installed in Baku, and 24,450 - in other cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
