Over 20 Baku parks covered by free Wi-Fi (UPDATE)

Free Wi-Fi has already covered more than 20 parks in Baku, said Ramin Guluzade, minister of transport, communications and high technologies, at a regular meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Baku.

Free Wi-Fi has already covered more than 20 parks in Baku, said Ramin Guluzade, minister of transport, communications and high technologies, at a regular meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Baku.

The project is of social nature and is intended to provide citizens and guests of the capital with Internet access.

Deployment of wireless Wi-Fi points in Baku of the capital of Azerbaijan is handled by Baku Telephone Communication LLC.

Work to expand the coverage of the wireless Internet network has been ongoing since March this year as part of the project "Public Wi-Fi." The goal of the project is to provide residents and guests of the capital with access to the Internet in places of mass congestion of people.

Currently, the territory of the Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve, the National Seaside Park, the Park of the Heydar Aliyev Center, the Narimanov Park (near the Metro station of the same name), the Winter Park, the Officers Park, the Sahil Parks are covered by free access to the Internet. "Akhundov park, Sabir park, Khagani, Huseyn Javid, Samed Vurgun, Mugan, Dede Gorgud, Izmir, Fashion Avenue parks , located between Port Baku Residence and Port Baku Mall.

To use the service, one will need to enable the option of Wi-Fi networks detection on mobile device, select ‘Baku loves you’ network and pass through authentication process via the phone number.
