The validity of the licensing agreement for Microsoft solutions for schools and universities in Azerbaijan is planned to be extended in 2021, Emin Akhundov, manager for educational programs at Microsoft Azerbaijan told Trend on August 3.
According to Akhundov, within the license agreement, the main attention will be paid to the implementation of cloud solutions in the field of education.
Besides, the manager reminded that in 2020 Microsoft Azerbaijan has implemented the ‘Virtual School’ project for the Ministry of Education.
“Last year, all schools in Azerbaijan were transferred to distance learning on the Microsoft Team platform, and 38 Azerbaijani universities also switched to this platform,” he said. “Moreover, we have implemented, together with UNESCO, 'Project Constellation', which covers countries that are leaders in the application of distance learning programs in schools. Azerbaijan is one of six such countries. The goal of the project is to study the results of distance learning using artificial intelligence.”
The company’s representative noted that trainings and certification of school teachers were also organized.
"The project covers five schools in Azerbaijan and more than 60 teachers. To date, 20 teachers have successfully passed the relevant exams for certification Microsoft Certified Educator," Akhundov said.
According to him, cloud technologies were introduced in Azerbaijani universities.
"The Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry is a member of the Microsoft Learn for Educators project. The university’s 30 teachers are trained under the Microsoft cloud technology program for its subsequent implementation in the curriculum. It will be also introduced in other universities," he stressed.
Along with the above, the MS Teams program and other Office 365 tools were successfully translated into Azerbaijani, added Akhundov.
