Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/ Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijan's Telecommunication Minister, has said that Azerbaijan will make all its telecommunications electronic ones by the end of 2008.
According to him, by the end of 2007, the level of electronization of telecommunication in the country will reach 70-72 percent.
As to Baku, the corresponding works are nearly under their completion here. The last tender on installation and projecting of the full reconstruction of automatic telephone exchanges of an analogue type under the following indexes: 471/472/473, 474/475/476 and 423 on the basis of Nехt Generation Network (NGN) technologies. The total capacity of all these stations reaches 90.000 telephone numbers.
Notably, up to date, about 80 % of the telecommunication networks of Baku City have been reconstructed.
The works on the reconstruction of the telecommunication networks are being implemented within State Programme "E-Azerbaijan".
