Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via maritime and coastal transport amounted to 5.1 billion tenge ($12.2 million) over 2020, which is 18.3 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via maritime and coastal transport during the reporting period amounted to 871,740 tons, which is 5.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
Cargo turnover amounted to 630.9 million ton-kilometers which is 6.5 percent less than during the same period of last year.
In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 37.2 million tenge ($88,570) over 2020, which is 55.9 percent less than during the same period of last year.
The number of transported passengers amounted to 40,720 people, which is 53.4 percent less than during the same period of last year.
Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino, and Kuryk.
Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South and back 12 months a year and 24 hours a day.
Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.
Kuryk Port is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, south of Aktau city. The port has direct access to the railway. The ferry complex of the port is designed for the transshipment of goods, including grain, petroleum products, fertilizers, and chemicals.
