Malaysia Aviation Group is interested in the establishment and development of interaction with partners from Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia.

The mentioned issue was discussed by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov and the Executive Director of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) Izham Ismail during an online meeting.

It is reported that the Malaysian side was informed about the measures being taken in Uzbekistan to further develop the tourism sector in the country, including the restructuring of Uzbekistan Airways and Uzbekistan Airports, subsidizing tourism entities or air carriers for organizing charter flights from other states, as well as the introduction of the "Open Skies" regime at all regional airports of Uzbekistan from August 1, 2020.

In turn, Izham Ismail highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in the above areas.

According to Ismail, Uzbekistan is one of the most attractive countries for the citizens of Malaysia, given the presence of architectural monuments and religious shrines, which are of great interest to Muslims.

Following the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement to organize online negotiations between the management of the MAG, the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the State Committee for Tourism and Uzbekistan Airports JSC to discuss possible areas of cooperation.

Malaysia Aviation Group is a Malaysian aviation concern operating in the business segments, including air transportation, ground services, aircraft leasing and training.

The largest segment of MAG is air transport, which includes Malaysia Airlines Berhad, Firefly, MASwings and Amal, as well as network carriers serving the global and domestic markets. In addition, the group includes MASkargo cargo transportation company.
