The volume of cargo transported through roads in the West Azerbaijan Province (north-western Iran) increased by 1 percent, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of West Azerbaijan Road and Transport Department Arslan Shokri said, Trend reports Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The director general noted that over 10.7 million tons of cargo were transported by 32,027 trucks through the roads of the province in 10 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, this figure stood at less than 10.7 million tons.
Shokri added that 2.95 million tons of cement were transported through the province’s roads for the reporting period, which was the main transported product.
"Over 10 months, 195 new trucks were added to the province's trucks and 41 drivers were provided with jobs," he said.
