PMO records increase cargo movements in Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 15 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 22, 2021, through January 20, 2022), compared to the 9th month (November 22 through December 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 188,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 10th month. Of this, about 169,000 tons were loaded and 19,300 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, 131,000 tons of cargo were exported and 9,110 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.

Within the 10th month, 1,450 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,440 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 36,900 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 29 tons of cargo were loaded, while 8,750 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 10th month.

“So, 53,800 tons of essential products, 25,800 tons of metal products, 41,300 tons of construction and mining materials, 5,680 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 10th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 101 tons of chemicals, 61 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 4 tons of small and assorted goods, 8,800 tons of container products, 52,900 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

About 17.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 10th month of the current Iranian year.

Of this, 11.9 million tons were loaded and 6.03 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 42 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
