Volume loaded/unloaded cargo at Iran’s Charak port growing

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 23. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Charak port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 22.4 percent, in the 11th month of the previous Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same month in the preceding year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

More than 169,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the 11th month. Over 135,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 28,100 tons were unloaded.

Approximately 15,800 tons of cargo were exported through the Charak port during the reporting month.

At the same time, over 119,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 34,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage within the 11th month.

Some 17,200 tons of essential products, about 102,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 4,800 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 180 tons of chemicals, 43,900 tons of small and assorted goods, and 1,350 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Charak port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year.

In total, approximately 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.9 million tons were loaded and 5.88 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 1.37 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
