By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend: Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev met with Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation Mauro Reina.
The issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries were discussed amid the upcoming official visit of the president of the Council of States (the upper chamber of the Swiss parliament) Filippo Lombardi's to Kazakhstan on November 12-14.
Moreover, such important aspects of cooperation as preparation for the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, Switzerland's chairmanship in the OSCE in 2014 and the promotion of Kazakhstan's candidacy for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018 were emphasized.
Tokayev received the U.S Charge d' Affaires John Ordway on Friday. The two sides exchanged the views on relevant issues of the Kazakh-U.S relations.
