Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Iran could increase 5 times, said the press office of the President of Kazakhstan Sept.9.
"Iranian businessmen are invited to participate in the Kazakh projects on agriculture. Their side already showed interest. Another important issue is the development of transport and transit sector. With the commissioning of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, exports of wheat of our country increase 5 times," President Nursultan Nazarbayev stated at a joint press conference after the meeting of the two presidents.
The Kazakh President also thanked his counterpart for his first visit to the country.
"Your visit is very important for strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Iran is our big and important partner in the world, as well as significant neighbor across the Caspian Sea," the head of state said.
The President of Kazakhstan said during the talks a number of specific issues in bilateral cooperation were discussed.
"We have identified the priorities regarding the road map and gave the relevant instructions. The documents signed during the visit, cover bilateral relations in the mining, oil and gas, agriculture fields as well as spheres of the research activities and new technologies", Nazarbayev said.
