BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Kazakhstan is taking measures to develop competitive tariff conditions on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) JSC told Trend.

According to the company, due to the events in Ukraine, measures are being taken to reorient Kazakh exports and part of transit cargoes in the East-West direction to the TITR.

"For the four months of 2022, the volume of container transit amounted to 9,900 TEU containers, which is two times more than the same period in 2021," KTZ noted.

The company also said that once a year the General Meeting with members of the TITR International Association is held to consider and approve tariffs for shipments along this route.

"On May 9-10 this year, gatherings of the working group and the General Meeting of the TITR Association were held in Ankara. Following the meetings, the participants decided to approve the Transportation Plan for 2022 in the volume of 3.2 million tons, as well as the need to continue work to develop competitive tariff conditions on the route," added the JSC.
