BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8. Kazakhstan has significantly increased the production of cars, Trend reports via Kazinform.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.
According to him, in recent years, the automotive industry in Kazakhstan has been developing rapidly and is one of the priority sectors of both mechanical engineering and the entire manufacturing industry.
According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the domestic production of motor vehicles in Kazakhstan has increased sixfold since 2016, the Prime Minister noted.
Despite the global deficit in 2021, sales of new cars in Kazakhstan amounted to 117,590 units (an increase of 25.9 percent compared to 2020), of which 75 percent are cars of domestic production, Smailov said.
Furthermore, from January through May 2022, 39,900 new cars were sold in Kazakhstan, which is 33.4 percent higher than in the same period of 2021.
