BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) has announced resumption of oil production at Kazakhstan's Kashagan field after a gas leak, Trend reports citing the company's website.

"On the night of August 9, oil production was resumed at the Kashagan field, suspended due to a gas leak at one of the facilities," the message says.

As reported, earlier, on August 3, production operations at the Kashagan field were halted due to the discovery of signs of a gas leak at the production site.

Kashagan is a massive offshore oil field located close to Kazakhstan's Atyrau in the northern part of the Caspian Sea, which is considered one of the world's largest discovery in the last 30 years.
